1 one thing i would do differnet is drill the holes more exact so the drill bits dont woble around as much. i think is we made a prototype we would have found a lot of our problems then. i would also put some finish on the wood or paint it so i would look nicer. if there was more time i would have liked to make it with some doors and hinges like a cabenet. i wish i had taken more time to sand the wood so it looked nicer. if we had more time we could have labeled each hole so you know the exact place to put it.

2 i feel much more comfortable using some of the tools. i was kinda of scared using the belt sander because i have seen some comercials and shows were it is very powerful and hard to control, but it was not as hard as i thought. i now know how to make a longboard which would usually cost me a lot of money, i can spend $15 on wood for a couple of boards and spend a couple hours and i have a longboard.

3 a prototype is very important in the design process because if you skip that step and go right on into making the finished product and there is a problem you have to start all over. if you make the prototype and find a problem then it is easy to fix.

when we made our first board it was kind of like a prototype because it worked but we used it to fix many of our mistakes. we found that we needed to use stronger wood and when the glue is drying we have to put weights on it to get the shape we want and it was stronger.

4 the most usefull thing i learned from the course is that you can make things that are almost as good or better as things that are sold in stores, like toms computer, our longboards, theo and nicks guitars.

5 the most surprising thing i learned from this course is how well i can make something. i didnt think that kid could make some of the things that they do in this class. when nick and theo showed us the guitars they made i was very surprised that kids could do it. when we first told kids that we were making longboards they said we couldnt do it and they were going to be crappy. the kids that saw them were really surprised how good they were and liked the way they rode.
